2 Cent Reviews for 23-11-11

Flash #3 - Animal Man can move over this month because Flash has just slaughtered it.  I've been praising this book in every review so far and it's really easy to see why.  Dynamic visuals and tightly knit writing are making this book both fun and interesting.  I won't say too much more but Manapul and Buccellato Flash make Geoff Johns obsolete to me.

Annihilators Earthfall #3 - YES!  That's what I call a damn marvel cosmic book!  I forgot how a good marvel cosmic title races by so fast  while it simultaneously feeds your brain condensed battles, science, and the unbelievable all in one.  I missed that brain tingle it gave too.  My favorite issue without a doubt as  the real threat is finally revealed.

Green Lantern New Guardians #3  -  A pretty stale issue where the Guardians treat Raynor like a punching bag.  Larfleeze's involvement however kept things fresh and saved the book from being a complete bore.

Wolverine & The X-Men #2 - A good issue but I don't really like this new Hellfire Club Jr.  The thing about this book that keeps me coming back is the team dynamics.  Seeing Iceman and Wolverine and Kitty Pryde and Beast and Rachel Summers in an all out fight just tingles a sense of nostalgia in me.  Bachalo's art isn't always amazing, but it still reminds me of better times.

Justice League Dark #3 - This is a break issue in denial.  Most of the book is just the characters meeting up and talking so it's a bit difficult to review.  Either way, as everybody shudders in fear at what The Enchantress could be plotting next, Mindwarp enters the game.

This was done by one of the homies over on the facebook group (cbnah).  Much love to one Mr Bennett.

WHAT TIME IS IT???

ADVENTURE TIME!! Today's tale contains assassins, poison, meat pies and Wildberry Princess!! Without further ado, I shall dissect for you episode 308.b - Jake VS Me-Mow!

Wildberry Princess invites Finn and Jake over for some meat pies to voice her concerns.

Those concerns mainly are being a target for the Guild of Assassins!

While WB and Finn discuss business, Jake pigs out.

Hungry for more, he asks his hand in the form of WB if he could have her pie.

Only to discover someone hiding in it!

Enter Me-Mow, the GOA Assassin sent after Wildberry Princess!

Me-Mow claims that since Jake foiled the attempt, HE must complete the contract himself.

Jake's fake assassination gets busted as guards rush to find WB in one piece!

With the poison injected inside of him, Jake begs Finn to play an old lullaby their mother used to in order to lull Me-Mow to sleep who is now hiding up Jake's nose!

It works!

Finn's noisiness gets dealt with.

As the poison slowly runs through his system, Jake gets another chance at offing Wildberry.

Me-Mow is exposed and Finn isn't too happy.

The two warriors commence battle!

Finn throws a defensive breath-blow that proves too much for Me-Mow to handle.

After the antidote gets smashed, Jake realizes that simply growing his liver will fight the poison.  Success!

Foiled again!

As Me-Mow tries to take out WB himself, she let's loose a visually hilarious defense mechanism.

Which turns out to actually be a medical condition.  They rush her to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Me-Mow survived the fall to kill another day!  DUN DUN DUUUUN!!!

Sunday Night Triple Ticket Cartoon Bash

So I wanted to review the latest American Dad, Family Guy, and The Simpsons but the episodes we're so terrible, all I could come up with was this:

An Avatar parody 2 years after the movie came out...meh.

This one was based off of some Iraq occupied war flick.  Bah.

So that's Neil Gaiman being assaulted by Moe.  Some people will do anything for a check.  Pfff!

Now you know why I called this one a "Bash".  They are REALLY running out of ideas on these programs.  Fail on all three shows.

Batman fights his greatest nemesis of all...

...poverty.

TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL - SEASON 2 !!!

Todd and the Book of Pure Evil is a low budget Canadian comedy/horror television series that follows a group of high school students who confront the effects of a demonic book.  Each week, the gang fight their way through a possessed student body to retrieve the book.  Jason Mewes plays Jimmy the Janitor, who often gives Todd advice that although confusing, ends up saving their lives.  The best way to describe the show is it is PURE METAL.  And season 2 has already started airing!  I highly recommend a download, but start with season 1.  Be warned: this show contains lots of gore and a ton of profanity.

The "gang" consists of Hannah the brains, Curtis the brawn (and yes that is a cyborg arm), Jenny the surly goth, and Todd the one day destined to be PURE EVIL ONE.

Oh, and here's a clip from the new season!

THE WALKING DEAD 206 - "Secrets"

I have a crush on Maggie.  But she's still with that wiener, Glenn.

Shooting practice.

Even Carl gets in on the action.

Does this neck gouge make me look fat?

Andrea gains +10 to accuracy.

Evil Shane is still evil.  Even after getting laid.

The End

EPISODE SPOILERS:  Still NO Sophia!
